Allegations of Military Provocations: South Korea’s Staged Actions Against North Korea Revealed
Share
An independent commission in South Korea has reportedly uncovered evidence suggesting that the South Korean military staged provocative actions against North Korea in 2024 to justify the declaration of emergency powers, according to the JoongAng Ilbo, which cited leaked documents and testimonies.
The leaked information indicates that South Korean military drones dropped propaganda leaflets over Pyongyang in October 2024. Sources claim that this operation was executed under direct orders from the president, referred to as “V” in the documents. Additionally, South Korean AH-64 Apache helicopters conducted mock attack drills near the demilitarized zone, complete with simulated radio communications designed to provoke a reaction from North Korea.

A crucial piece of evidence found was a note in the notebook of a former intelligence chief, which mentioned plans to “provoke an attack near the NLL” (Northern Limit Line), suggesting a possible coordinated effort to escalate tensions in the region.
Investigators are currently verifying the authenticity of the documents, as there are suspicions that they may have been altered to obscure the actual chain of command. South Korean defense officials have refrained from commenting, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation. North Korea has not yet responded to these allegations, but experts worry that these revelations could further strain the already delicate relations between Seoul and Pyongyang.
