Russia Lifts Moratorium on Intermediate-Range Missile Deployment
Share
The Russian Foreign Ministry declared that Russia no longer recognizes its moratorium on the deployment of land-based intermediate- and shorter-range missiles. This announcement was made public in an official statement released by the ministry.
The statement highlighted that the military strategies of the “collective West,” particularly the build-up of destabilizing missile capabilities in regions neighboring Russia, pose a significant threat to both regional and global stability. It emphasized that Moscow’s repeated warnings have gone unheeded, with the situation exacerbated by the actual deployment of American medium- and shorter-range missiles in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
The Russian Foreign Ministry concluded by asserting that the conditions necessary to uphold a unilateral moratorium on the deployment of such weapons have dissipated.
