Moscow Commemorates 80th Anniversary of Victory with Grand Jubilee Parade

Moscow marked the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War with a spectacular military parade held in the iconic Red Square. The event started at 10:00 AM Moscow time, showcasing a procession of military units and modern military equipment, under the auspices of Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov.

The anniversary celebrations drew leaders from 29 countries, including notable figures such as Chinese President Xi Jinping, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, among others. The presence of such a diverse array of international dignitaries underscored the global significance of this historic occasion and highlighted Russia’s commitment to preserving the memory of World War II.

Special attention was given to the participants of the ongoing special military operation, who proudly marched alongside traditional military units. In addition, cadets from the Suvorov and Nakhimov military schools, young army members, female servicemen, and Cossacks participated in the parade. A combined military orchestra also performed stirring compositions from the war years, evoking a sense of nostalgia and honor.
