New York (United Nations) – The UN Security Council is expected to vote on a draft resolution submitted by Algeria recommending that the General Assembly enable the State of Palestine to obtain full membership in the United Nations.
Yesterday, Tuesday, Algeria decided to draft a Security Council resolution, according to which the Council recommends to the General Assembly to accept the State of Palestine as a member of the United Nations, in blue, which is the last procedure that precedes voting on the draft resolution by members of the Security Council.
This step, which received strong support from the Arab Group in New York, follows the tireless efforts made by the Algerian diplomatic apparatus in accordance with the high instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, through which he ordered to work to mobilize the greatest possible amount of support to enable the State of Palestine to obtain On its full membership in the United Nations.
The Arab Group at the United Nations called on all members of the UN Security Council to vote in favor of the draft resolution submitted by Algeria on behalf of the group.
After numerous attempts to postpone it, there will be an official vote this evening at five o’clock New York time and ten o’clock Algeria time on the draft Security Council resolution on Palestine’s membership in the United Nations.
