ESCWA: The number of children killed in Gaza exceeds the total number of children killed in all conflicts in the world since 2020.

Beirut – Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), Rola Dashti, announced that the number of children who were killed as a result of the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip during a month exceeded the total number of children killed in armed conflicts in 22 countries since 2020, according to what the agency reported. She stressed “the necessity of a ceasefire and ensuring the sustainable flow of humanitarian aid with the aim of alleviating suffering immediately and concretely,” noting that “failing to address the root causes of the ongoing occupation makes recovery efforts insufficient and short-term.”

She also stressed that “the level of destruction in Gaza is unimaginable and unprecedented,” adding: “As of November 3, estimates indicate that 35,000 housing units have been completely destroyed, and about 220,000 units have been partially damaged.”
