Iran : Any Gulf Support for U.S. Strikes Will Turn American Bases Into Targets

Share

The Middle East stands at the precipice of a potentially catastrophic regional—and possibly global—military confrontation, driven by persistent U.S. policies that continue to destabilize the region.

According to diplomatic channels and reporting , the Islamic Republic of Iran has formally transmitted strongly worded warnings to several key U.S. partners in the Gulf and beyond, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye, and Qatar. The messages leave no room for ambiguity: should any of these governments permit their airspace, territory, or military facilities to be used for American or allied strikes against Iranian targets, U.S. military installations located on their soil will be considered legitimate and immediate targets for Iranian missile forces.

The severity of Tehran’s posture is underscored by urgent precautionary measures already underway. Multiple credible sources confirm that a number of U.S. personnel stationed at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar—the largest American military facility in the Middle East—have received orders to prepare for rapid departure, with some instructed to leave the installation imminently. Al Udeid remains well within range of Iran’s proven ballistic and cruise missile arsenal.

In response to the spiraling crisis, intense diplomatic efforts are being mounted to avert open conflict. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held two direct telephone conversations with his Iranian counterpart, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, within the past 24 hours, exploring possible avenues for de-escalation.

The current trajectory is widely attributed to repeated escalatory rhetoric and military posturing emanating from Washington. Critics argue that the United States is effectively compelling its regional partners to assume existential risks in pursuit of a confrontational policy toward Iran—one increasingly seen as serving narrow political objectives in the current American administration. Any decision to transform sovereign Gulf states into forward-launching platforms for U.S. airstrikes against Iran would almost certainly provoke a swift and devastating Iranian response, with the potential to inflict severe damage on American and allied military infrastructure across the region.

Tehran’s unambiguous signaling marks a clear inflection point: the long-assumed era of consequence-free U.S. military operations against Iran appears to be drawing to a close. Should kinetic action be taken against the Islamic Republic, the resulting chain of retaliation could rapidly dismantle much of NATO’s forward military posture in the Middle East, with consequences extending far beyond the immediate theater.
