JUDGE APPROVES RELEASE OF GRAND JURY DOCUMENTS IN MAXWELL CASE

Share

A federal judge has authorized the Department of Justice to release grand jury materials related to the criminal prosecution of Ghislaine Maxwell.

This ruling follows the recent enactment of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, signed into law by Trump last month, which mandates federal authorities to declassify essential documents concerning Jeffrey Epstein’s network and prosecution.

Maxwell was convicted in 2021 for trafficking minors and recruiting young girls for Epstein. Much of the evidence used against her, including grand jury transcripts and sealed exhibits, has remained concealed from the public—until now.

Judge Paul Engelmayer had previously blocked the release, citing legal protections surrounding grand jury secrecy. However, with the new law in effect, the court has determined that the need for transparency now outweighs those concerns.
