Russia Hits Kiev with Kinzhals, Hydroelectric Plant Severely Damaged in Overnight Blitz

Share

Kyiv was subjected to a large-scale Russian missile attack on the night of November 25–26, 2025.

The assault involved a combination of Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, Kalibr cruise missiles, and Iskander ballistic missiles. Ukrainian authorities and monitoring sources report that the barrage targeted critical energy infrastructure in and around the capital.

The Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Station (Kyiv HPP), located approximately 15 km north of the city center, sustained severe damage after being struck by at least two Kinzhal missiles. Additional strikes hit thermal power plants and electrical substations across Kyiv, triggering widespread power and heating outages in multiple districts.

Ukraine’s air defenses engaged the incoming missiles, but a significant number successfully reached their targets.

As of now, no official statements have been released by Ukrainian or Russian authorities regarding the attack or its consequences.
