Russian Official Threatens Retaliatory Strikes on U.S. Cities Over Potential Tomahawk Missile Support to Ukraine

The State Duma has expressed its readiness to target American cities if Tomahawk missiles are supplied to Ukraine. Alexei Zhuravlev, the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee, stated in an interview with Gazeta.Ru that the Ukrainian armed forces would not be able to launch American Tomahawk missiles at Russian territory without the direct involvement of U.S. military crews. He emphasized that such involvement would signify Washington’s entry into the conflict, which could have severe consequences, including potential retaliatory strikes on American cities.

Zhuravlev reassured that Russia possesses the capabilities to carry out such actions. He also mentioned that Russian air defense systems are well-equipped to intercept Tomahawk missiles. “For every Tomahawk, we have our own S-350 system,” he noted, adding, “For air defense, this is a straightforward target, well-studied since the Soviet era.”
