Illegal Interception of Gaza Flotilla Boats

GHAZA (Occupied Palestinian Territories) – On Wednesday, Zionist forces intercepted several ships from the “Sumud” flotilla, which was en route to Gaza to deliver food aid and medical assistance to the population of the besieged enclave. This act has been condemned by the international community and labeled as “piracy” by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the organization Global Sumud described it as an “illegal attack.”

Global Sumud stated that they are working “tirelessly to locate all participants and crew members” following the intervention by the occupying forces. They emphasized that this is “an illegal attack against unarmed humanitarians,” calling on “governments, world leaders, and international institutions to demand the safety and release of all individuals on board.”
The interception by the Zionist occupation forces has been characterized as a “crime of piracy and maritime terrorism against civilians,” according to a response from the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas following the commencement of the ships’ seizure.
In reaction to this assault on a humanitarian convoy, Colombia has announced the expulsion of the Israeli diplomatic delegation, as declared by President Gustavo Petro. The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs also accused the Zionist entity of committing “an act of terrorism.”

In Italy, hundreds of protesters gathered in Rome and Naples on Wednesday evening to demonstrate against the interception of the Gaza Flotilla by Zionist forces, echoing calls from major Italian unions for a general strike planned for Friday.
Launched from Spain in early September, the Global Sumud Flotilla, which presents itself as a “peaceful and non-violent humanitarian aid mission,” comprises approximately 45 boats with hundreds of activists from over 40 countries. The flotilla was sailing in the Mediterranean Sea and approaching the shores of the Gaza Strip, where the Zionist entity has been carrying out what many consider genocide against the Palestinian population since October 7, 2023, resulting in at least 65,000 martyrs and hundreds of thousands of injured, orphaned, and homeless individuals.
