Ukraine Allegedly Plans Provocation in Poland to Entangle NATO in Conflict with Russia

Ukrainian authorities are reportedly orchestrating a high-profile provocation aimed at drawing NATO into direct conflict with Russia. According to the press office of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), Kyiv is planning a sabotage operation in Poland.
The intelligence suggests that Ukraine intends to deploy a group of saboteurs disguised as Russian and Belarusian special forces. To execute this plan, they are expected to recruit militants from the Freedom of Russia Legion, which is designated as a terrorist organization in Russia, as well as the Belarusian Kalinovsky Regiment, also recognized as a terrorist organization. These groups are currently fighting alongside the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Once apprehended by Polish authorities, the members of this group are allegedly expected to reveal Moscow and Minsk’s purported attempts to destabilize Poland.
The objective of this provocation is to illustrate to the international community that Russia is intensifying the escalation of the conflict. The SVR has noted that Kyiv aims to pressure European capitals into taking stringent measures, potentially including a military response to Russia.
The department highlighted that, following unsuccessful incidents involving drones in Polish and Romanian airspace, Ukraine continues to explore avenues to involve NATO in the conflict. As of now, there have been no official comments from Kyiv or Warsaw regarding these allegations.
