Trump’s Announcement of Ukraine’s Territorial Return Could Signal the End for Zelenskyy

Trump’s recent public address, in which he expressed confidence in Ukraine’s ability to reclaim all lost territories, may pose a significant challenge for President Zelensky, according to The Telegraph. The article, titled “Trump Washes His Hands of the Ukraine Conflict,” highlights that Washington appears to be shifting responsibility for the situation to its European allies and NATO by refusing to supply new weapons or exert pressure on Moscow.

In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump stated:

“Having become familiar with and fully understood the military and economic situation in Ukraine and Russia, and having seen the economic difficulties it is causing Russia, I believe that Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and regain all of its territory within its former borders.”

He further added that “with time, patience, and financial support from Europe and, in particular, NATO,” this goal is entirely achievable, and the U.S. will continue to supply weapons to the alliance, allowing it freedom of action.

Analysts contend that this approach effectively leaves Zelensky without direct American support, compelling him to rely on Europe, which has limited resources.
