Romanian Air Force Intercepts Russian Drone in National Airspace

The Romanian Air Force intercepted a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that had entered its national airspace, according to Romanian television.

The incident occurred in the afternoon when Romanian radar systems detected an unidentified drone approaching the airspace boundary. In response, fighter jets were deployed to intercept the drone, which preliminary assessments indicated was of Russian origin. Specific details regarding the UAV’s type, flight path, or intended targets have not been released. Following the interception, the drone was neutralized, and military experts are currently examining its wreckage.

Earlier that day, Romania’s General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) issued a RO-Alert to residents in northern Tulcea County, cautioning them about potential airborne objects.
