Algeria Strongly Denounces Israeli Plans Threatening Gaza and Palestinian Statehood

Algeria has issued a vehement condemnation and unwavering rejection of the Israeli schemes that jeopardize the future of Gaza, the Palestinian state, and the prospect of peace throughout the region. The country has called upon the international community to assume its responsibilities in putting an end to these plans and halting the genocide that the Palestinian people have endured for nearly two years, as outlined in a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad and African Affairs on Saturday.

The statement emphasized, “Just days after the convening of the international conference aimed at achieving a two-state solution—wherein the global community reaffirmed this framework as the sole viable path toward a just, lasting, and definitive resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict—the occupying authority has once again demonstrated its disregard for international will and resolutions. It is plotting to reoccupy Gaza militarily and forcibly displace its residents.”

Algeria firmly denounces these Israeli plans, asserting that they compromise not only the future of Gaza but also the future of the Palestinian state and peace across the entire region. It reiterates that “Gaza is an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territory and an inseparable component of the Palestinian state recognized by international legitimacy and sought by the global community.”

From this perspective, Algeria urges the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to “bear the responsibilities it holds in putting a stop to these Israeli schemes and ending the genocide inflicted upon the Palestinian people for nearly two years.”

While Algeria stresses the urgent need to address the immediate priorities dictated by the current situation, particularly the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in Gaza, it underscores that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with al-Quds as its capital is a historic entitlement that is non-negotiable, cannot be subject to expiration, and is not open to compromise.
