Storm Shadow Missiles Fired, Crimea on Alert

A missile alert was activated in several regions, including areas under Russian control, following the launch of Storm Shadow cruise missiles at approximately 08:31 local time. Report of multiple missile launches originating from the Mykolaiv region, with strikes aimed at the Zaporizhia region, the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR), as well as Sevastopol and Novaya Kakhovka.
At least 12 Storm Shadow missiles were reported to have been launched. The initial alarms were triggered at 08:31 with the first recorded launches from Mykolaiv. By 08:35, the LPR had declared an aviation, missile, and bomb threat, and a missile alert was issued in Sevastopol. As the situation unfolded, the number of attacking missiles rose from eight to twelve, with strikes reportedly focused on Novaya Kakhovka and the surrounding eastern and southeastern areas.
As of the latest updates, there has been no official word on the consequences of these attacks, including potential damage or casualties. Russian air defense forces are likely maintaining a heightened state of alert to counter the missile strikes. Previously, the Russian Defense Ministry has stated that its forces successfully intercepted Storm Shadow missiles employed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Storm Shadow (SCALP-EG) is an Anglo-French stealth long-range cruise missile, capable of targeting locations over 250 kilometers away. It is actively used by Ukrainian forces to hit strategic objectives. In light of the escalating attacks, local authorities are urging residents to adhere to safety measures and to follow emergency service instructions.
