Russian Forces Destroy Patriot Air Defense Systems in Kyiv

The Russian Defense Ministry announced that it had successfully destroyed two launchers and an AN/MPQ-65 radar station belonging to the American-made Patriot air defense system during a precision strike in Kyiv. The operation, reportedly involving Iskander-M ballistic missiles, aimed to neutralize Ukrainian air defense capabilities as part of a broader offensive targeting military infrastructure across Ukraine.
The Russian statement emphasized the significance of the strike, claiming, “Two launchers and a radar station of the US-made Patriot anti-aircraft missile system were destroyed.” This operation is said to have been part of a larger assault that also targeted military airfields and supply warehouses, further intensifying the assault on Ukraine’s military assets.
As of now, there has been no official response from either the United States or Ukrainian authorities regarding the Russian claims, leaving the actual impact of the strike and the condition of Ukraine’s air defense systems uncertain.
