Real-Time Warfare: Russian Forces Conduct Largest Attack on Ukraine, Broadcast Live to Viewers

Russian military forces executed one of their largest assaults on Ukrainian soil, deploying 407 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and 44 missiles, including both cruise and ballistic types. The strikes targeted multiple cities, including Kyiv, Kharkiv, Ternopil, Lutsk, Rivne, and Zhitomir, leading to extensive damage to infrastructure and military assets. Notably, this operation featured a unique element: the destruction was broadcast live on YouTube channels that showcased views of various Ukrainian cities, enabling Russian forces to monitor the missile and drone impacts in real time.
Local residents’ live streams served as an unexpected and valuable source of information regarding the consequences of the strikes. Footage from cameras positioned in Kyiv and other urban areas captured the chaos, with scenes of explosions and plumes of smoke rising from affected residential neighborhoods.
Analysts suggest that these attacks were likely a retaliatory measure following a recent Ukrainian military operation dubbed “Spider Web,” during which Ukrainian drones targeted Russian airfields on June 1.
