During a meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his accompanying delegation, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, highlighted Pakistan’s special status within the Islamic world. He stressed the importance of joint and effective cooperation between Iran and Pakistan to put an end to the crimes committed by the Zionist entity in Gaza.
According to Tasnim News Agency, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed his satisfaction over the resolution of the conflict between Pakistan and India and voiced hope for the settlement of differences between the two nations. He praised Pakistan’s strong and positive stance on the Palestinian issue over the years, affirming that despite repeated temptations to normalize relations with the Zionist entity, Pakistan has not succumbed to such pressures.
Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out the vast potential of the Islamic Ummah to enhance its strength in the world today. He remarked that in a world increasingly motivated by incitement to conflict and war, the only way to ensure the security of the Islamic community is through the unity of Islamic nations and the strengthening of cooperation among them.
He considered the Palestinian cause as the foremost issue in the Islamic world, highlighting the tragic situation in Gaza. He noted that the plight of Gaza has reached a point where ordinary people in Europe and America are protesting against their governments. Unfortunately, some Islamic governments continue to side with the Zionist entity under such circumstances.

The Supreme Leader affirmed that the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan, through their joint cooperation, can play a significant role in the Islamic world and correct the misguided approach to the Palestinian issue. He expressed optimism about the future of the Islamic world, with many events reinforcing this hope.
Ayatollah Khamenei described the relationship between Iran and Pakistan as historically warm and brotherly, citing Pakistan’s support during the imposed war as an example. However, he observed that the current level of cooperation between the two countries falls short of expectations and added that there are many areas in which they can collaborate. He expressed hope that this visit would contribute to a comprehensive enhancement of relations, especially in economic, political, and cultural fields.
He also emphasized the necessity for Iran and Pakistan to collaborate to further activate the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
In this meeting, which was also attended by Iranian President Masoud Bezhakian, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed his great happiness at meeting the Supreme Leader and thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its positive role in easing the crisis between Pakistan and India, while discussing the latest developments in the conflict. He also addressed the tragedy in Gaza, lamenting that the international community has taken no effective action to halt the humanitarian catastrophe there.
Additionally, the Pakistani Prime Minister referred to his constructive and fruitful discussions in Tehran and expressed hope that this visit would further expand relations between the two countries.
