Russian Forces Block Ukrainian Incursion Attempt in Kursk Region

A Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group, consisting of six members, attempted to infiltrate the Kursk region through the village of Volfino. Their efforts were thwarted when they triggered a TM-62 anti-tank mine at the border with the village of Rogozne in Ukraine’s Sumy region.
Reports indicate that the Armed Forces of Ukraine aimed to “probe” the defenses near Volfino to facilitate the deployment of additional forces for a potential breakthrough. Concurrently, they were shelling the area with artillery to displace Russian military units. However, the attack was repelled by Russian border guards, and the members of the sabotage group were eliminated due to the mine explosion.
The Sever group, in coordination with FSB border guards, successfully halted the incursion. Authorities emphasized that the Kursk region has been “completely cleared” of Ukrainian formations. They also reported that remnants of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and foreign mercenaries, who had targeted the villages of Tyotkino and Novy Put, were neutralized.
In response to the situation, Russian forces have been conducting air strikes using FAB-500 high-explosive aerial bombs to target identified Ukrainian positions along the border. Over the past 24 hours, attacks have been carried out on concentrations of Ukrainian forces in the areas surrounding the villages of Basovka, Zhuravka, and Rogozne in the Sumy region.
