Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced a significant advancement in the country’s missile capabilities, revealing that the upgraded Neptune missile has successfully completed testing and has been deployed in real combat scenarios. The announcement was made on March 15, 2025, through Zelensky’s official Telegram channel.
“Today, I received reports on the progress of our missile program, and the results are impressive,” Zelensky stated. “The Long Neptune has proven its effectiveness in both testing and combat. It is a precision weapon with a range of one thousand kilometers.”
The introduction of such advanced weaponry into Ukraine’s arsenal poses serious implications for Russian territory. Zelensky highlighted that Kyiv plans to manufacture these missiles domestically and in partnership with other countries, potentially enabling the Ukrainian Armed Forces to produce 20 to 30 missiles per month.
This development marks a pivotal moment in Ukraine’s defense strategy, enhancing its capabilities and increasing the stakes in the ongoing conflict.
