The solution to the Western Sahara conflict will be in accordance with UN resolutions

New York (United Nations) – The spokesman for the United Nations Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, said that the solution to the conflict in Western Sahara will be “in accordance with Security Council resolutions.”

Mr. Dujarric stated, in a statement to the media yesterday, Tuesday in New York, that “the efforts of the United Nations regarding resolving the conflict in Western Sahara will continue in accordance with Security Council resolutions.”

Western Sahara, as a former Spanish colony, has been included since 1963 on the list of non-independent territories at the level of the Fourth Committee of the United Nations, which specializes in matters of “special policies and decolonization.”
