Algiers- International reactions continue denouncing the terrorist attack that targeted a shopping center on the outskirts of the Russian capital, Moscow, on Friday evening, which left 133 people dead and dozens injured, a toll likely to rise.
The Russian Investigative Committee said in a statement that the attack on the Crocs City Hall entertainment mall in the city of Krasnogorsk was carried out by gunmen wearing camouflage clothing, who opened automatic weapons fire on the audience in a concert hall.
Subsequently, Algeria condemned “in the strongest terms the cowardly and despicable terrorist attack” against the Russian Federation, noting that “this terrorist attack comes to remind the rest of the international community of the continuation of the scourge of terrorism and in the same context, to highlight the responsibilities it bears in preserving Its constant vigilance and full ability to mobilize collectively in the face of this threat, which continues to be a source of harm and destruction.”
“In these tragic circumstances,” Algeria expressed its “full solidarity with the Russian Federation, and also extended its sincere condolences to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded.”
It also reaffirmed its “full readiness to contribute, with all determination and steadfastness, to this collective effort of the international group, which reflects its commitment to eliminating the scourge of terrorism.”
For his part, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, through his spokesman, Farhan Haq, condemned “in the strongest possible terms” the terrorist attack that targeted Moscow. In turn, European Union spokesman Peter Stano said that “the Union is shocked and appalled by the reports of a terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall in Moscow” and that it “condemns all attacks on civilians.”
In this context, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, condemned the terrorist attack on Moscow, expressing his condolences to the families of the victims and to the Russian leadership and people.
As for Chinese President Xi Jinping, he stressed that his country “opposes terrorism in all its forms, strongly condemns the terrorist attack, and firmly supports the efforts of the Russian government to maintain security and stability in the country.”
French President Emmanuel Macron, for his part, “strongly condemned the terrorist attack” and indicated that his country was closely monitoring the situation and standing in solidarity with the Russian people.
Meanwhile, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni affirmed that “the horror of the massacre of innocent civilians in Moscow is unacceptable,” expressing her full solidarity with those affected and the families of the victims.
For his part, Turkish President Tayyip Recep Erdogan stressed that terrorism, whatever its source and whoever commits it, cannot be accepted, denouncing the attack that took place in the capital Moscow.
South Africa also condemned the terrorist attack that targeted the Russian capital and all terrorist acts, expressing its full condolences to the families of the victims, while the Mexican Foreign Ministry expressed its regret at the “unfortunate loss of human lives,” noting that it rejects “any act of violence against civilians.” .
It is noteworthy that gunmen stormed, with Kalashnikov assault rifles and wearing camouflage clothing and without masks, the “Crocs City Hall” commercial entertainment center in the city of Krasnogorsk on the outskirts of the capital Moscow, where a concert was being held, and opened fire with automatic weapons on the audience, and then threw a bomb. which led to a fire.
Russian President, Vladimir Putin, declared national mourning in his country Sunday for the victims of the armed attack that targeted the mall, which led to the death of 133 people and the injury of dozens.
Putin also vowed, in a live television speech, to hold accountable all those involved in planning the attack, stressing that the investigating and law enforcement authorities will do everything to find out the details of the bloody attack in “Crocus.”
In this regard, the Russian authorities announced the arrest of 11 people, including four gunmen suspected of being linked to the attack.
