Adis Ababa -The Chairperson of the African Union Commission , Moussa Faki, confirmed on Saturday that the Gaza Strip is being subjected to complete genocide and that the Palestinian people are deprived of all their rights.
In his speech during the opening of the thirty-seventh (37th) ordinary session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, which is held under the slogan “Educating an Africa adapted to the twenty-first century,” in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, Faki condemned the aggressive military operations “that are unparalleled in History of Humanity”, which has been committed by the Zionist occupation army against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission indicated that the decision of the International Court of Justice to take all stipulated measures to prevent direct incitement to genocide, ensure the immediate provision of urgent humanitarian needs in the Gaza Strip, and avoid targeting civilians and facilities in the Strip, is “a victory for all countries supporting the Palestinian cause.” .
In addition to the central topic of the session, which is “The Problem of Education on the African Continent,” the work of this session will also discuss many international and regional issues, especially “the Palestinian issue and developments in the security situation on the African continent, in addition to institutional reform of the African Union bodies, and the implementation of the 2063 Development Agenda, as well as Activating the African ready military force.
